The Parish Nurse Program is a cooperative effort of Greater Manchester congregations of various faiths and Optima Healthcare Community Services (OHCS) to reclaim the churches' traditional ministry of health and healing of the body, mind and spirit.

The Parish Nurse is actually several people (all nurses) who are often parishioners in the parish in which they serve. Many are volunteers, though a full-time program coordinator is provided by Optima Healthcare Community Services.
